About

The famed US Navy Mark V diving helmet is known worldwide by divers and collectors alike. Arguably the most collected period of Mark V diving helmets is World War 2. One reason for this is the fact that the US Navy had inspectors at each of the four manufacturers – stamping helmets that passed inspection. Helmets featuring this stamp provide proof the helmet was in US Navy inventory and possibly used during the War. The US Navy Mark V is arguably the most iconic helmet design ever made. Its style and history have made it one of the most popular helmets among collectors worldwide. The model was made for the US Navy from 1916 till the mid-1980s. Production of the helmet reached peaks during late World War 1 and also during World War 2. During this entire time span, the Morse Company would produce the Mark V for the military and civilian divers. The helmet is complete with all 12 wing nuts, 4 brails, window guards, glass, window guard screws, air fitting, exhaust, and communications fitting.
